White Heat

White Heat

Summer in London can be unpredictable but when it comes to those (rare) hotter days there are two things we know for sure. One: breezy white linen is the best bet for staying cool. Two: when it comes to makeup, a little goes a long way (and reduces the chance of everything sliding off).

We met the lovely Anmari Botha when she was in town for a brief stint away from her home in New York, and knew we had to feature her in a shoot. Born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand, Anmari’s laid-back attitude and sarcastic sense of humour made her a dream to work with, not to mention her golden hair and crystal-clear eyes. Add the ever-talented Laura Allard-Fleischl with a fresh roll of film and a crisp white piece or two from our favourite sustainable store The Acey, and we had ourselves a dream team.

Beauty-wise, Anmari’s features needed only the barest amount of enhancement. Skin went from blushing to bronzed with the help of products from RMS Beauty and Jane Iredale - Rosie used Lip2Cheek in Beloved for a bloom of blush on the apples of the cheeks and lips, and then So Bronze powder was layered with Buriti Bronzer on the face, eyes and even lips for an all-over bronzed glow that made Anmari’s baby-blues pop. Glasshouse stylist Mia created a low relaxed ponytail with plenty of wisps around the face and volume at the crown; summer hair and beauty at its finest.
