Travel, sea and sun can play havoc with our hair and beauty routines so we thought we’d pick the brains of the Glasshouse team and find out what they’re taking on their holidays this year. “This summer I’m going on a trip to the US which means lots of travelling, two fairly long flights and the prospect of not getting a lot of rest. I’ll be packing my Binchotan Charcoal Eye Mask to help me sleep when I can - I love the silvery satin fabric and I know it’ll make me feel a little bit luxurious, even when I’m hours into my flight.”

“I’m not about super strong lip colours that feel caked-on, especially when on holiday. I’ll be packing one of Ilia’s SPF 15 Tinted Lip Conditioners for softer, hydrating lip coverage. People never think to protect their lips from the sun and this makes it that little bit easier. I really rate the warm reddish Bombora colour that I’ll be dabbling on during my summer break in Provence.”

Lucy Vincent - Leonor Greyl Huile Secret De Beaute

“I’ve been known to do everything in my powers to make drizzly London feel like an exotic holiday all year round. Leonor Greyl’s Huile Secret De Beaute definitely helps. It’s basically liquid gold in a bottle - a rich oil that smells of posh French pharmacies and makes your skin look glossy and glowing, whilst giving your hair light-reflecting shine. I’ll be applying it poolside in Marrakech in August - I read that this product was actually developed for Leonor Greyl’s family to use on holiday. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me. Apparently it works wonders as a leave-in conditioner in the sun too, giving UV protection and smelling d-i-v-i-n-e.”

“Sweat and summer go hand in hand. Fact. I’ve stopped using regular mainstream deodorants and am completely converted to The Natural Deodorant Co’s Vanilla & Manuka Balm instead. Firstly, it actually works and smells sweet and refreshing all at once. Secondly, it’s super gentle and only has a handful of natural ingredients in it, meaning I can keep applying through the day without any nasty chemical build-up. Perfect for the holiday handbag! “Travelling with makeup can sometimes be a bit of a drag, but RMS package all their products in small pots and jars, ideal for sticking in a bag and getting on a plane. For me, holiday makeup needs to be versatile and minimal - I generally go for a dabble of Lip2Cheek paired with my RMS “Un” Cover Up which is super light and coconut-oil based. “I’ve been in Croatia and Finland already this summer and loved not wearing any makeup. This powder’s translucent and also has SPF 30 so I just swept it across my bare face every couple of hours for sun protection and a bit of sweaty-skin blotting too. The great thing about it is that is gives a translucent finish, leaving no powdery-ness and acting as a sunscreen at the same time.”

“I’m jetting off to Portugal and Morocco this summer - the weather in both is likely to be sweltering and I’m fully planning on ditching the hair dryer for two weeks. “With all the air-con, aerosols and time zone shifts, I’m constantly aware of dehydration and its effect on my skin. I always love to have a couple of Guy Morgan products with me when I travel for work. “I can’t wait for my holiday to Ibiza this summer and am planning on spending as little time as possible on my hair. It’s lightened so does need some kind of protection in the heat, which is why I’m reaching for Organic Colour Systems’ Status Quo Protect Leave-in which is designed to minimise damage from sun, sea, chlorine and heat.
