Step by Step: Life's a Peach

Step by Step: Life's a Peach

Hair might be our forte, but we stock some brilliant natural makeup brands including RMS, Ilia and Jane Iredale that we love using on a day to day basis. These products are not only kind to the skin and free from a whole host of nasty chemicals found in traditional makeup, they’re super high-performing and we reckon they’re some of the best contemporary makeup brands around, even compared to non-natural alternatives.

At Glasshouse, we all use these products everyday, so we thought it was time to showcase how versatile they are with a series of step-by-step makeup tutorials designed by our very own Glasshouse girls! From a classic red lip to our take on a smokey eye, these guides will have you looking flossy and out the door as quickly and fuss-free as possible. You can thank us later…

First up we have a peach of a look, designed by senior stylist Anna using mostly RMS Beauty products. Working with complimentary coral tones on lips, cheeks and eyes, skin is kept luminous and natural, as are lashes. When applying this look we support, nay, we encourage using your fingers to keep things as soft as possible. Dabble away!

Base

To keep the skin dewy and natural, we used RMS Un-Coverup coconut oil-based foundation in shade 22 applied sparingly on any blemishes or redness, then blended out with the Skin2Skin foundation brush. This brush is designed to mimic skin to skin makeup application, so it’s basically the same as using your fingers but with even more flawless results.

Lips and cheeks

RMS Lip2Cheek in the colour Curious was dabbed on for a peachy-flush to the cheeks - it looks super bright in the pot, but once on the skin Curious counteracts any redness leaving a fresh, wearable coral behind. The same product was used on the lips, this time built up for a brighter pop of coral to keep the look from being too neutral.

Eyes

Complete the look with a wash of peachy-gold patted onto the eyelids and a single coat of mascara; we used RMS eye polish in Lucky (again, no brush needed) and Jane Iredale Purelash mascara in black. Better still, the seaweed lipids and wheat protein in this mascara mean plenty of lash-strengthening action and no splitting. The end result is warm, glow-y and golden (all great adjectives in our books) and can be achieved using only four products which appeals to even the laziest among us.
