Glasshouse x Otiumberg

At Glasshouse we love supporting other small businesses led by like-minded women, and so when sisters Christie and Rosanna of jewellery brand Otiumberg got in touch we jumped at the chance to collaborate on something special.

Founded in 2014, Otiumberg is a London-based jewellery brand centred around elegant essentials designed for everyday life. From classic chunky gold hoops to dainty personalised necklaces, each piece is an instant classic and a staple to wear again and again. Having worked with the duo previously during our Give & Receive Christmas pop-up in December, we were already huge fans of the timeless pieces the sisters create and so we wanted to create something that reflected the simple and effortless style of the brand.

Together with photographer and friend of Glasshouse, Thea Lovstad, we have released a new image series featuring a range of Otiumberg key pieces. With warm, summer inspired tones, we focus in on the fluidity of femininity and the shared mantra that less is more.

For the first look our resident makeup artist Emily Wouters opted for natural, glowing makeup that highlighted Mette’s facial features. “Before applying any makeup I used the Guy Morgan Dagger Rose Oil to hydrate and prep the skin, followed by a small amount of Ilia True Skin Serum and RMS ‘Un’ Cover Up. For Mette’s eyes I then used a combination of the Ilia Beauty Cosmic Dancer Illuminator and RMS Peach Luminizer and to create a sheer wash of gloss that reflects the light. That same blend was mixed with Ilia Beauty Cheek To Cheek Multi-Stick and blotted onto the lips for a barely-there colour.”

For the hair, Ashleigh worked with Mette’s curly texture to create a bouncy look that carried movement. “I wanted to work with her amazing natural curls so I simply used a curling wand to tong a few random pieces to even out the curls. I then went through and used my fingers to separate any hairs that needed defining to create a consistent texture.”

Our second model Madeleine had dark, straight hair reaching past her waist that Ashleigh used to create an effortless gothic look. “For Madeleine’s long, thick hair I wanted to do something that complimented her own style. I smoothed out her hair and used straighteners to add just a few kinks throughout the hair, leaving the rest straight. The idea was to create a subtle, modern finger wave.”

Emily used a combination of products to create a bespoke eye gloss for Madeleine’s look. “On Maddie’s eyes I used a combination of RMS Lip Shine in both Trance and Enchanted along with the Lip2Cheek in Illusive blended together. I blended the pigment across from the lash line to the brow for a gentle gradient, with the darkest shade at the lash line.”

For the final look on Mette, Ashleigh switched things up a bit with a more slicked back up do that showed off the jewellery even more. “For Mette’s second look I smoothed out her curls and used hair spray and oil to slick her hair back into a bun. I left a few untucked pieces around the face to make it look natural in the sense that she could have simply thrown it up in a bun herself.”
