After Party

After Party

With summer taking it’s time to appear, we’re basking in a few more hours spent lounging around indoors. And what better get-up to recline in than a pair of slippery, silk pyjamas? When designer and stylist Lottie Warren introduced us to After Party, her line of Italian silk printed pyjamas and home accessories, we couldn’t resist featuring them in some way.

Printed in the UK using no harmful chemicals, Lottie works closely with her factory to ensure the highest quality, sustainable silk garments. This time we’ve collaborated once again with Glasshouse girl Laura Allard-Fleischl and superstar set designer Amelia Martyn, drawing on the pyjama’s graphic prints and lustrous silk textures to create a dreamlike image series that’s definitely worth waking up for.

Bright white eye makeup and dewy skin pair with the softest tousled bob and minimalist underwear by Nude Label (stocked at our favourite sustainable style destination, The Acey). The result has got us wishing we were dozing off in a pair these satin softies - eye mask optional. We also caught up with Lottie to find out about all things After Party…

“I studied at Falmouth University, graduating in 3D Design but textiles has always been a massive interest. When I first decided I wanted to make PJ’s, I called upon a past school teacher who is now retired and is a real genius. I wanted to know my product inside out, I learnt how to work with silk, make french seams and pipe collars and made all my first samples by hand.”
“The evolution of After Party was pretty organic. I had been designing prints for a while with no real output and once I started working with silk, pyjamas made perfect sense. It’s the best material for sleep, truly luxurious, great for skin and hair and it just feels amazing! I had never owned a pair of PJ’s that I loved so I wanted to make them.”
“Surrealism has been a big influence on this collection of prints, which have now become our ’never out of stock styles’. I loved the idea of a hard marble surface juxtaposed with the softness and sheen of the silk, we use digital print to create our pieces which brings the prints alive to make them pretty life like. There are underlying tones of trips, hangovers, and dreams.”
“These are made for those that like a lie in, that have no shame in an entire day in bed with Netflix. There has been a huge trend in PJ’s as daywear and often get asked about this, but I just want them to be lived in. I am currently working on a new collection using different fabrics to create other price points to make these sets accessible.”
