Girls on film: Natassja Kinski in Paris, Texas

Wim Wenders’ 1984 film Paris, Texas is a classic for many reasons. Rolling desert landscapes, kitsch themed peep show booths, a poignant and touching storyline. But there’s one thing which stands out for us perhaps more than any of this, and it comes in the form of a hairstyle! Natassja Kinski was given a transformation from her usual long brunette locks to play the character of Jane, whose warm blonde, centre parted, shoulder-skimming bob is nothing short of perfection.

Girls who would like to emulate this style (form an orderly queue!) should first grow their hair so it’s the same length all the way round. The key to this style is it’s sharp fullness at the ends, so ensuring the hair is the same to begin with will help when cutting in the blunt mid-length. To achieve the golden blonde, we have a variety of different tones in our Organic Colour Systems range that can be mixed and blended to create a soft and even finish. As for styling, a smooth blow dry with slightly curled under ends will achieve the look if your hair is slightly longer or you want to exaggerate a shorter cut.
