Girls on film: Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby

Rosemary’s Baby is one of our favourite horror flicks and stars the ever stunning Mia Farrow. One of the most famous movie stars of the sixties, Farrow’s rushed marriage to Frank Sinatra captured headlines as well as her controversial relationship with Woody Allen. Cast as our halloween heroine this year is her role as Rosemary Woodhouse in the Roman Polanski cult classic.

Despite the film’s creepy content, we’re completely captivated by Mia’s flawless styling, with the actress sporting not one but two iconic cuts throughout the movie. The first, a short, tucked-under bob is cute yet sophisticated, and is the perfect match to Mia’s slim features. Farrow’s second style, a short pixie cut, went on to become the actresses calling card and is the look most often linked with her today.

Until recently, it was believed Vidal Sassoon was responsible for the iconic crop, but after his death in 2012 Farrow revealed via twitter that she had actually cut her hair herself with a pair of nail scissors, and the images of the pair together were a publicity stunt for the film!

Ladies looking to emulate “The Mia” should be ready to take the chop; both of her hairstyles skim well about the shoulder. Talk to your Glasshouse stylist about whether a short cut is right for you.
