12 months of smoothies: October

In the run up to Halloween, pumpkin’s seem to pop up everywhere; from farmers markets and shop windows to front gardens and windowsills. Our October smoothie combines this classic symbol of the season with some warming spices to brighten up crisp Autumn mornings.

Pumpkins are a great source of fibre and beta-carotene, providing Vitamin A to the body which is essential for healthy glowing skin and strong eyesight. Add to that potassium loaded bananas and vitamin E rich almond milk, and you have a breakfast smoothie that willl leave you feeling and looking your best on even the drizzliest of days.

Simply blend, pour and enjoy!

1 cup pumpkin purée

1 large ripe banana

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tablespoon honey or agave 

½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon nutmeg

2 ice cubes
